Job seeker visa

The Swedish Job Seeker visa permits you to stay in Sweden for a minimum of three months and a maximum of nine months. To apply for a Swedish Job seeker visa, you must meet the qualifying conditions and submit documentation either online or at the Swedish embassy. You can utilize the visa to gain a job as an employee or to start a business in Sweden.

If you later find a job in Sweden or start your own business, you can apply for a work visa from Sweden and begin working as soon as you have applied for the new permit.

Employee visa

This visa allows you to work in Sweden for an employer who has given you a part-time or full-time position. This visa is provided for a specific employment, and the person who holds such visa is not be able to work in Sweden for any reason other than the one approved by the visa.

You can obtain an employee visa if you, among other things, have a valid passport, your employment offer meets Swedish collective agreement standards, and you earn at least SEK 13,000 per month before taxes. When you start working, your potential employer should also provide you with health, life, employment, and pension insurance.

Business visa

You can apply for a business visa if you want to sell your products or services in Sweden. In general, you will need to demonstrate your experience in the industry in which you wish to work as well as past company management experience. Make sure you have the financial means to begin your business path, i.e. 200,000 SEK for you, 100,000 SEK for your accompanying wife/husband, and 50,000 SEK for each accompanying child for a two-year permit period. .

Family reunification visa

If your wife or partner is already legally residing in Sweden and you want to join her/him, the family reunification visa is the best option. To obtain such a visa, your family member must be able to demonstrate sufficient income to support you. It could be from her or his employment, unemployment benefits, sickness benefits, or pensions. Furthermore, the place where you are going to live should be large enough to accommodate your entire family. A kitchen or kitchenette, as well as at least one room, are required by Swedish law for an accommodation (home or equivalent) for two individuals without children. The family reunification visa is valid for a duration of two years.

If you have European citizenship or are a family member of an EU citizen living in Sweden, there are EU rules that can make your migration to Sweden much easier.
